I'm listening to a Dr. Dog tune remixed by Beck and it's terrible, but wonderful at the same time. But mostly just terrible. Good news! The Carolina Quarterly accepted a story of mine. I haven't a clue when it will appear, but they sent contracts and all, so I will take their word that it will be published someday. The other day at the grocery store our checkout girl was named Tierra. I thought it was an interesting name--and then I noticed that the bagger was named Sierra. I wondered if they get tired of people asking if they are related, every time the question asked both sets of eyes roll in exasperation. Or maybe I've thought about this too much. A new book review will be posted shortly. I'm coming to terms with the novel--it's a complicated one folks. Maybe Friday? Oh. Listen to Junip. They're Pitchfork approved, but still very good. If you give your email they'll give you the new EP. Over the next few days I'll be posting a fascinating letter I found where I work. It was stuck in a book (I know this ain't new, Found Magazine's been doing it for years) but I thought it was equal parts artifice and beautiful writing. It deserves to be shared. Here you go:
