I say this always, but this story is bonkers. A Freddie Mercury anthropoid that exists solely to entertain the proles in a dark futureworld UK? What? To my gratitude, the folks at the brand new literary magazine Opossum saw the emotional core beneath the concept. Look for "We Toured the Factory Cities and Came Back Deaf"...in the future!
Thrilled to announce that my short story, "Year of the Rat," will appear in a future issue of New Ohio Review, an incredible lit journal from Ohio University. Got to say that this one was special to me. I pushed myself on this and felt like it was maybe the best thing I'd ever written. Dave and the gang at NOR gave me some incredible notes and I think the story is even better than before. Can't wait to see it in print.
Now back to work!
Very excited to say that The Adroit Journal has accepted my first piece of creative nonfiction, "Rural Appalachian Tour of Homes," for publication later this year. Adroit is a snazzy dang journal full of really great writing, and I count myself lucky to be a part of it. Thanks to Peter and all the readers at Adroit for taking the, uh, essay? I think it's an essay. Anyway, thank you!
